Morse coded words/tones were composed into several channels of audio and recorded onto a set of cds. Many big box stores, such as Walmart, Best Buy, Kmart, Target, Circuit City, have sample electronic merchandise out and readily available to insert and play cds (cd players, boom boxes, dvd players...). The morse code message/composition disks are be placed in those devices (each disk had a minute of silence to provide get away time). In almost every case so far, what resulted was a curiosity, an exciment of discovery, and a shift away from the often dazed mode of consumption.

two boxes
A performance piece for a concert setting, utilizing two mysterious-looking black boxes with a handcuff attatched. Each conceals a small tape player & speakers (initially these are silent, playing blank portions of tape). Two observers are asked to hold a box, to watch over it for a little while. I also ask if it would be okay if I handcuff it to them, because, inside the box is something that means alot to me, it's important, I don't want it to be lost or picked up by someone else.
The lights are switched off. sound begins, listen.
A composition starts off from the front of the room, from the house's sound source. Half-way through, the sound fades out and the boxes then reveal themselves as sound sources, as part of the composition.
