ABOUT ME

My name is Kevin Arnold. I graduated from the Evergreen State College in 1999 with an interdisciplinary focus in Education, Sociology and Literature.

For the past 12 years, I’ve had the pleasure of working as both a teacher and private tutor throughout the thriving and creative Berkeley community. I've taught at Berkeley High School’s Independent Study Program, Holden High School, and currently teach part-time at Tilden Preparatory School. I’ve chosen the profession of teaching and tutoring because I find my work continually meaningful, interesting, and engaging.

Aside from teaching and tutoring, I greatly appreciate the Bay Area’s thriving creative communities and incredible natural habitats. When I’m not working, I’m often out surfing somewhere along our amazing coastline, hiking with my dog Ziggy, or exploring an art gallery or live music show. In the past, I’ve also played a fair amount of music, including guitar and drums in a few independent rock bands. I have found that my diverse cultural interests are assets which enhance my ability to connect to each of my unique students.
